About
The first step in strengthening a community is giving its members a way to connect, or reach out. Our platform re-engages the older generation of our communities by making it easier for them to form real bonds with people in their communities. ReachOut provides an organized way for caregivers and working adults to find community members to help out their loved ones, and uses this engagement as a conduit for building strong, genuine relationships that strengthen the community. The platform creates the foundation for bonds built on trust, shared interest, and compassion.
ReachOut was created by two students at Johns Hopkins University who have a passion for community engagement and care deeply about the issue of social isolation. Elise and Amal have seen how older generations can become disconnected from their communities and how regular interaction and assistance can improve quality of life. They built this platform for their parents and grandparents, as well as yours.
